Welcome to Greater Lansing!
The MSU Men’s Volleyball Club welcomes all the players, officials, coaches, families, and fans annually to the largest men’s volleyball pre-season tournament in the country! The club is honored to host this tournament in East Lansing every fall. The club also appreciates the time and effort made by so many to help make this tournament the largest pre-season men’s collegiate volleyball tournament in the nation.
MSU students named the event in 1990, based on the sometimes challenging transition from the sandy beaches of the Great Lakes to the hardwood courts at the IM West facility. The “Back to the Hardwood” event has come to represent a time of renewal each year when teams play in pre-season competition, make and renew friendships and plan for the upcoming MIVA/NCVF volleyball season.
On behalf of the Greater Lansing Sports Authority we would like to welcome you to our community! Whether you're a first-time visitor, or a seasoned guest to the area, we're glad to be your host. We hope you enjoy your stay in East Lansing, home of the Spartans!
